From the hilarious to the heartwarming, Voices on a Sunday Morning is a unique and witty compilation of more
than 140 newspaper articles published in the Kenosha Newspaper in Kenosha, Wisconsin, over a period of four
years.
Four people—a trial attorney, a college
history professor, a bank employee/pig farmer, and a retired computer
analyst share their thoughts and feelings on a variety of topics.
Whether it be the thrill of antique hunting, the confession of a noted
Francophile, a satiric look at presidential elections, or a handy guide
to being ‘old school,’ these articles deliver an offbeat, sometimes
quirky, but always entertaining look at the everyday stuff of life.
But even more, Voices
on a Sunday Morning offers a revealing glimpse into a lively
Midwestern town with all its challenges, its joys, its fears, and its
blessings. Lighthearted at times, yet deeply moving in others, these
articles share the triumphs and struggles of the average American
citizen.
Be prepared to laugh, to agree, to disagree,
and perhaps even to have your heartstrings tugged. Vibrant and colorful,
Voices on a Sunday Morning
paints a vivid tapestry of life in the good ol’ U.S.A.

In a Moment is a
contemporary auto-biography of Terri Gilliland, a woman who lived through
and overcame three traumatic serial episodes in her life; going blind, a
husband forever changed through a near fatal motorcycle accident, and a
son diagnosed with brain cancer at age fifteen. It is a true account
of a woman’s roller coaster life filled with pain, struggle, love, and
triumph. The narration is influenced not only by her degree in psychology
but also by her insight, faith, and indomitable courage. It is a powerful
and extremely personal first-person account of the human will to persevere
against overwhelming odds the likes of
which most of us can only imagine.
Theresa Gilliland is
a Rehabilitation Specialist Associate working as an advocate for the blind
and visually impaired in her community. She also volunteers her time on a
variety of committees that assist people with disabilities. She received
her degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin. She lives in
Wisconsin with her loving husband and cat, Mystery.
